She’s helped children ages three and up and their families by performing assessments, referring to and coordinating with community resources, helping with parenting challenges, offering mental health care, and more.
At SMPsychotherapy and Counseling Services, Alicia works with children, couples, parents, and adolescents. She provides individual, couples, and family therapy for those struggling with substance use disorder, bullying, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, LGBTQIA+ issues, trauma, PTSD, chronic stress, autism, life changes, chronic illness, ADHD, and other mental health issues. She also has experience coordinating with schools for 504 plans and IEPs.
Her goal as a social worker is to normalize seeking mental health care and help clients understand they don’t have to struggle alone. She wants clients to leave each session feeling supported and understood.
Alicia provides a holistic approach that helps clients heal and move forward to create a life of joy. She uses several modalities, including play and narrative therapy, journaling, artistic expression, and traditional CBT and DBT.
Alicia provides services in English, Portuguese, and Spanish and uses her language skills to remove cultural barriers and connect clients and their families to community resources. To schedule an appointment with Alicia, reach out to our office today.
