Andrea Servan, LCSW
I am Andrea Servan. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
When I think about what I do every day for work, my heart glows. I have a passion for helping individuals finds their true self, regardless of their current situation. We all make mistakes; we all feel loss at times, and we all feel unsure about who we are and our choices in life.Â
I work well with clients struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression and trauma as well as experiencing life transitions. Even though the work begins with oneself, I also believe in strength in numbers. Thus I also work with couples and families that might be struggling with communication, perspective-taking, disengagements among members and generational trauma.
I’m a strong believer of using your personal experiences to learn more about yourself and develop as an individual. Growing up in Peru and then moving to the United States at the age of 17 allowed me to see the world through the eyes of an immigrant, a developing teenager in a new culture and a growing adult that had to get used to living with new family members.
As an immigrant myself, I understand the culture shock many of us experienced when moving from our countries of origin to the United States, the guilty of leaving family behind and the fears that come with trying something completely new in a foreign space.Â
I believe in collaborative work. Our sessions will me a space for you to be who you truly are and for us to foster a healthy, trustworthy, and honest relationship to work on the goals you are ready to work on.Â
My treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), solution-focused, true radical empathy and humanistic therapy. The most important part of therapy is having empathy for my clients and use a non-judgmental approach to truly listen to your story.Â
My goal is for you to be happy. Whatever that means to you. We will work at your pace, and I will kindly challenge you to be your best self. Please don’t hesitate on contacting me to take the first step on this journey.Â
