She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Edith’s educational journey showcases her commitment to excellence. She obtained her first bachelor’s degree in English Literature in Nigeria, West Africa. She later pursued a bachelor’s in nursing, a master’s in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and ultimately earned a Doctorate in Nursing. Additionally, Edith holds a post-graduate certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Edith began her career as a family nurse practitioner in the South Bronx, gaining exposure to addiction medicine and mental health. Her experience in a corrections facility further emphasized the intersection of mental health and criminal justice. Edith’s passion for mental health grew as she encountered cases in corrections and witnessed the impact of mental health on individuals. She also worked with the elderly in nursing homes, addressing dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Edith specializes in treating mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, and addiction. Her approach combines medication management with comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
