Getting Started With Our Practice

insurance information smpyschotherapy and counselingDo you want to pursue therapy with us, but you’re not sure what to expect? Maybe your uncertainty is holding you back from getting started. Thankfully, the following questions are designed to alleviate any concerns you may have. We want to answer your financial and logistical questions so you can begin your healing process with ease and confidence.

How do I connect with you?

There are three easy steps. First, you can give us a call at 203-800-9778. You will speak to our service coordinator, who will match you with the therapist that is the best fit for you. From there, they will help you schedule your first appointment, and you’ll be all set to go!

How soon can I book an appointment?

Usually within a week or two you can expect to have your first session, which is an evaluation of your needs and treatment goals. Our therapists have different schedules, but generally, we have availability on all weekdays and occasionally weekends, too.

insurance and fees danburyWhat kind of services do you provide?

Our practice offers counseling for individuals, couples, families, children and teens. We even have a group counseling program, which can be part of your individual treatment plan if you’d like. And if you want to pursue medication, we also have an on-site psychiatrist who is licensed to prescribe.

Are your sessions in-person or online?

In the wake of COVID-19, all our sessions are held via phone or online video conferencing.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept Medicaid and most forms of commercial insurance. We are also fine with private pay. At the beginning, during your call with our service coordinator, we will make sure your insurance is compatible with our practice.

What kind of payment do you take and when is payment due?

Because all our therapy sessions have moved online, we only accept debit or credit at the moment. Payment is due following each session.

How long are your sessions?

Sessions last approximately 45-60 minutes. The length of sessions varies from client to client.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy, which sets us apart from the 24-hour cancellation policies of most practices. In the case of emergency cancellations, we handle them case by case.
