Linda Lee, Associate MFT-A
Hybrid Therapist in our Hartford Office
Trauma Therapy for Children, Adults, Couples, Parents, and Families in Connecticut
Linda Lee is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at SMPsychotherapy & Counseling Services who provides hybrid therapy in Connecticut, offering both in-person and telehealth sessions for children ages 5 and older, adults, couples, parents, and families.
Linda provides trauma-informed therapy for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, family conflict, relationship stress, substance use concerns, abuse-related experiences, and co-occurring mental health challenges. She is passionate about helping clients feel safe, supported, and empowered as they work through difficult emotions, unhealthy patterns, and life stressors.
Her clinical experience includes providing individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy in a residential treatment setting serving individuals with substance use disorders and mental health needs. During her internship, Linda worked with high-acuity clients and gained experience in trauma-focused care, addiction treatment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, family therapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She also received weekly supervision to strengthen her clinical work and provide thoughtful, ethical care.
Linda’s therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and relational. She uses evidence-based and client-centered approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Internal Family Systems-informed work. She helps clients better understand their emotions, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.
In addition to her psychotherapy training, Linda has a background as a massage therapist and acupuncturist. This gives her a deeper appreciation for the mind-body connection and the ways trauma, stress, and emotional pain can affect both physical and emotional well-being. Her approach is holistic, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s needs.
A unique part of Linda’s work is her therapy/service dog, Venus. When appropriate, Venus may be part of the therapeutic environment to help create a calming, comforting, and welcoming space. For many clients, especially children and families, the presence of a therapy dog can support emotional safety, connection, and ease in the therapy process.
Linda is currently expanding her work across the lifespan and welcomes children ages 5 and older, adults, couples, parents, and families seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, and family stress.
