Treasure Takang-Enow, APRN
Psychiatric Mental Health | Medication Management | English & French
Treasure Takang-Enow, APRN, brings more than 14 years of nursing experience and a deeply compassionate presence to psychiatric care. Her background in acute and critical care has shaped her ability to remain calm, attentive, and thoughtful even when a patient’s needs are complex. Today, she brings that same steadiness to mental health care, creating a space where clients can feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for.
Treasure has a particular heart for individuals whose mental health journeys may feel complicated or difficult to navigate. She is comfortable caring for clients experiencing significant mood changes, persistent anxiety or depression, trauma, attention difficulties, substance-use concerns, and serious mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder, psychosis, and schizophrenia. Rather than seeing someone only through the lens of a diagnosis, Treasure takes time to understand the person behind it—their experiences, challenges, strengths, relationships, and hopes for their future.
Her approach is holistic and person-centered, combining comprehensive psychiatric assessment, thoughtful medication management, motivational interviewing, and individualized treatment planning. When appropriate, she also considers lifestyle and nutritional factors that may support a client’s overall wellness. She works with young adults, college students, adults, and older adults and provides care in both English and French.
At the heart of Treasure’s philosophy is a simple picture she carries with her about life: some seasons give us lemons, while others give us oranges. When life feels filled with lemons, we don’t have to pretend they are sweet. But we can remember that lemons are not all life has given us. Sometimes healing means reaching back for the “oranges”—the memories of better days, the people who have loved us, the strength we have already shown, the things that still bring us joy, and the hope that reminds us that difficult seasons are not the whole story.
That perspective reflects how Treasure approaches her clients: with patience, warmth, empathy, and the belief that even during complicated seasons, there can still be something worth reaching for.
Outside of her clinical work, Treasure enjoys working out, cooking, and baking—another reflection of the balance she values between caring for others and finding joy in everyday life.
Treasure Takang-Enow, APRN is accepting new clients at SMPsychotherapy & Counseling Services.
