Hunter Ralston

hunterHunter Ralston is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor specializing in a practical, goal-oriented approach to therapy. She received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health counseling from the University of St. Joseph in 2020 and has significant experience in substance abuse recovery.

At SMPsychotherapy, Hunter is excited to work with people aged 16 and older who struggle with anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, and life transitions. She uses Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to guide clients toward the life they want.

While Hunter is happy to work with clients as long as they like, her goal is to help people develop problem-solving skills, coping mechanisms, and mindfulness techniques, so they don’t need perpetual therapy. Her sessions are flexible, and she believes the client should guide the work.

In addition to her work in therapy, Hunter is involved in her community bringing young people and women into the world of triathlons. A former division 1 athlete, Hunter, has a unique understanding of the pressures of transitioning from high school to college and college to career.
